A Ride from Manila To Zamboanga, My Hometown (Snapshots)

This is a landscape of downtown Iloilo. The view of this beautiful city is taken from the Super Ferry 15 (on its last voyage) during ther stop-over of the voyage. Note on the right side of the picture is the silver-domed San Jose Recoletos Church at the City Plaza. The Holy Child, Santo Niño, is the patron saint of this church and also the Dinagyang Festival.

I see clear waters beneath. The ship runs from Manila Bay to Sulu Sea.

The sun has set down for a bright night full of reminiscences.

"Our Lady of the Pillar and the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival"

This is my thesis project as requirement for graduation last 2006. It is one of the top theses

for UST Painting 2006 class. The project depicts Our Lady of the Pillar being regarded not only as the patroness of Zamboanga City but also as the unifying cultural and historic figure of the city's traditions.
